Uma’s classes are rooted in the concept of “being” and “becoming” - how we can welcome all parts of ourselves as we are, and explore the potential of all that we can become through practice, devotion and will.
Bringing together a fusion of traditional yoga practices, approachable mindfulness techniques and revelation from the depths of her personal journey, she hopes to offer a space for others to come deeper into presence by honouring their bodies, slowing down and receiving the energy of community.
Influenced by creative expression, she teaches alignment based, anusara-inspired asana with a focus on sensual and conscious movement. In her classes you can expect rhythmic and thoughtful sequencing, sensitive and clear instructions and the inspiration of a soulful playlist.
Since leaving her corporate job at the BBC and a career as a sound engineer, she has spent the last years living, studying and teaching around the world devoting herself to the healing arts, the path of practice and being in service to something bigger. Most of all as a teacher, she is committed to share the simple tools that have held and helped her find more meaning and purpose in her life.
