In-Studio Covid-19 Procedures

Update on COVID-19

To our beautiful community,

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been doing our very best to create a clean, safe, and calm oasis in which to practise and reconnect with yourself in these challenging times.

After the UK Government’s latest recommendations and in order to protect the health and wellbeing of both the NHS and our community, we’ll be temporarily closing our physical studio doors until further notice. We wish we could offer a more tangible timeline for when we will re-open, but as we are all aware it’s impossible to know in this ever-changing situation. We’ll keep monitoring and adjusting our plans accordingly and updating you regularly with any and all information we can share.

What you need to know:

  • All credits used for bookings from Wednesday 18th March onwards will be returned to your account by the end of the week;

  • All class pass expiry dates will be extended by an additional 3 months (and more if it becomes necessary) free of charge;

  • We are not able to offer refunds for any classes purchased with us at this time. We will of course be ensuring that all credit purchased shall remain valid for you to use either for our online offerings or at such time as we reopen the studio.

In these uncertain times, community and connection are more important than ever. These have always been our core principles and we intend to stand by them as we face this adversity together. We’re forever grateful to have the most kind and supportive community to navigate this incredibly difficult situation alongside.

We are committed to continuing our mission to help you connect to both yourself and others and we are excited by everyone’s enthusiasm for our online classes! Since we’ll all be spending much more time at home in the coming weeks, some of us on our own, we are planning to schedule a diverse offering of classes, workshops, sound baths, and guided meditations with our teachers, maybe even some time in which we all just meet virtually over a cup of orange & coconut tea - it will be a portal through which we can all remain connected online until we can come back together in person. We also plan to host one free offering every week.

First things first, we are hosting our first online class tomorrow (Wednesday 18 March). We’ll be using Zoom, an online video meeting platform, which is very easy to set up and use! You can choose to have your camera on or off (so you can practise in your PJs if you want without others on the video call seeing you!) and you will be able to see and hear the teacher as they guide you through the class live.

To sign up and participate in our online offerings:

  1. Download Zoom (on your phone, tablet, or laptop) and create an account.
  2. Next, open the MindBody app or log in to your Union Station account via our website; our online class schedule will be viewable and bookable on there like a normal class!
  3. Once you have booked in via MBO for an online class you will receive an email confirmation which will include instructions and recommendations for props you may want to have on hand (aka pillows, blankets, sofa cushions, etc…)
  4. Set a reminder on your phone to join the class!
  5. Ten minutes before the class you will receive a further email which will include a Zoom Meeting ID and link that will take you directly to the class live stream.

Following this offering, we will be planning a range of classes and styles with many of your favourite USY teachers. If there is anything specifically you’d like to see on the schedule or learn about just drop us a line to let us know!

We know that many of you will be having a stressful and uncertain time right now. Is there anything we can do to support you? What do you need? Let us know and don’t go through any of this alone.

For those who are strong, well, and in a position to help others, we will be compiling a resource list including ideas for volunteering and supporting those in need in the community. If you want to contribute to this please drop us a line.
